Robert Reich said that to fix the economy, we have to end wage inequality. I agree with his views. If the wage disparity is wide, those at the lower income levels do not have enough money to spend. There is no need to produce the goods. The economy must reduce in size.

Dee Kay Dot As Gee :: Going to be disconnected from civilization this weekend

In case you still do not know, there will be no train service between Jurong East and Clementi on the 4th and 5th of September. And also no train service between Bukit Batok and Jurong East on the 18th and 19th of September. Not to worry, there will be 70 bendy buses ferrying the passengers affected.

I think this is the first time ever in SMRT history that they shut down services between 2 stations for upgrading works. But I’m glad they are FINALLY doing the upgrade works. The train is really getting more and more overcrowded. Hope this will improve everything. The news say it will shorten waiting time from the current 2.5 to 4.5 minutes to 2 to 3 minutes.

But this also means that my house will be more or less disconnected from the rest of civilization this weekend. Or maybe I should just cancel all appointments this weekend and stay in Pulau Jurong. Hmmm……

My view
To achieve the growth in population, there is a need for public services to be expanded as well. I hope that the essential services can now be expanded to match the larger population.

Guns n Roses O2 Dublin Sept 1st 2010 - Welcome to The Jungle: Bottles were thrown onto the stage. The group walked off the stage.

The crowd are not amused as the band do not appear on stage until approx 10:25pm. No interaction or apology by Axl to the crowd who are booing etc.. Bottles are thrown on stage during the start of Welcome To The Jungle. Axl tells the crowd to stop throwing bottles at him or they'll leave. The show goes on for another couple of songs before more bottles are thrown at Axl & he just up's & leaves. The Promoters / Venue staff make announecments to the crowd about trying to fix technical difficulties at first (yeah right!) & then tell people they're working to get the band back & ask the crowd to stop throwing things at Axl. The crowd were told another annoucement would be forthcoming but after 10-15 mins, the house lights just came on & crowds started to leave after O2 staff were telling the crowd it was over & to contact MCD for a refund... I was one fo the crowd who had waited for ages & after been told it was over & the band were not coming back on & to seek my refund from MCD, I heard the band came back on at approx 11:30pm but we weren't allowed back into the venue.
